About Eva-Luna:
Born in New York, Evelyn met the sky scrapers, it skylines, the city that never sleeps, and the loud music coming out of large speakers hanging out from the windows of a nearby 'project', and the loud salsa and hip-hop songs coming out of a radio from some "cocolo's" shoulders.
All of it she viewed from the windows of a small apartment in NYC, sheltered form the dangers and excitements of the big city world. The snow and a fire down a fire-escape is the last thing she remembered before moving to Puerto Rico as a little child.
There, maybe sitting on her stroller, she learned her 1st words as she began to learn important life lessons, and to day dream and create her 1st drawings of what she though the world was about. At a very young age fate took her, her siblings and her mother to the land of her grandparents, where she went to school. At a very young age destiny took her away from her father and his family, his culture, and his dark past. But it gave her a new life filled with lots of color, music and love from a very large family who she will remember fondly for the rest of her life...
Evelyn went to 1st grade at the age of 4, and excelled in most of her class subjects, except math. Art and music where her favorite subjects. She also loved English, History and Reading, even Science. Due to her very young age and school regulations she was forced to return to 1st grade again the following yr. even though she had a 4.0 score. She was to finish that 1st yr. in kinder garden.
A dominant and confident child, she refused the kinder and was allowed to stay home for the rest of the school yr. learning to read and write from her older sisters and her cousins. She continued with her drawings that were clear and creative and very advanced for someone so young.
Her 1st drawing, a fair skin woman with light brown teary eyes with a tear streaming down her face, was a picture she copied in exactitude from one of her older sister's drawings. A drawing she replicated over and over throughout her life since. Not clearly knowing the reasons, each time her drawings took on a new meaning on her creative life. The art turned into story boards, then into novels and into poems too, later on...
And as the years passed writing became her biggest passion. Evelyn developed her love for writing since elementary school, where she wrote for the "Mini-Bilingual Club" and its Club news paper that was directed by Mrs Cosmo, and Mrs. Hernandez her 4th and 5th grade teachers.
Evelyn began to write essays and journals, school compositions, and poetry and verses too. Some of her poetry and arts were published on the school newspaper, others were posted by her teachers on the Principal's office wall and the teacher's classroom walls and green boards along with some of her pretty childish drawings.
The years passed Evelyn began doing digital graphics and computer drawings as a hobby and as her way of releasing stress. She also began to write mature poetry and finally got her 1st book "Grieving" published by Poetry.com & Amazon.com, with her poem "Silence", being nominated shortly after as a semi-finalist on a Poetry.com new writers poetry contest.
Evelyn took "Grieving" out of demand a yr. later to publish instead a wider compilation of her work titled "Poems From a Gypsy Soul" 1st published by Dorrance Publishing, and later by Create Space, a branch of Amazon and Lulu.com, former Poetry.com. This was the 2nd Edition and it is still available in Amazon.com, Lulu.com, Authors Den, and can be found also in Barnes & Noble, as on demand order. (Needs to be requested by title and/or ISB#, not on shelves yet)
To this day Evelyn by the user name and pen name Eva-Luna has shared her work online and in print in many site engines, Google.com, Vivir.com, Poetry.com, Lulu.com, Amazon.com, Worldpress, and her own Facebook Group "Poor Artist Cupboard" among others.

Note from the Author/Editor/Site Host:
Thanks, for reading this lengthy introduction of my work and my self biography, there's much more about myself and so little time to present it to all of you online. At the present moment I reside in FL., "The Sunchine State". I've lived here for over 15 yrs now. I am married and have 3 amazing children and few pets, that keeps me busy when I'm not writing, painting or drawing, or surfing the internet.
Don;t get me wrong even if I'm that busy I always make for my family and friends and make time to keep the house and run errands, shores I happily share with my husband and our children. Well, I hope you enjoy my photos, my poetry and my humble art.
With nothing more, good-by, Evey!
